Who doesn't love fresh pasta? Join us and learn how simple and fun it can be to create your own pasta! We'll show you how to create delicious fresh pasta, and how to use the day's offerings from Waystone Farm to build a gorgeous menu that highlights the best of the season! First, you'll join Deb, the farmer, to collect ingredients from the garden and talk about the importance of locally grown food. As a part of our Sustainability Series, this class will highlight the importance of reducing meat consumption, while demonstrating the incredible versatility and culinary potential of fresh, seasonal produce. In the kitchen, we'll talk about classic French technique, ingredient selection, and how to put your produce center stage. We'll work through the day's menu together, offering hands-on instruction and helping you to expand your culinary know-how, regardless of your current skill level. And, to round out your experience, our exceptional beverage expert will show you how she uses seasonal produce to create unexpected and delicious cocktails and mocktails. You'll create a custom cocktail together, and then move to the garden to enjoy the meal you've created! As you eat, you'll be treated to a guided, sustainable wine pairing and learn about how to select the right wines for your future culinary endeavours. You'll walk away with a new appreciation for local produce, an understanding of how to make more sustainable choices when you shop, and new culinary skill-sets to apply in your home kitchen.
